What Is a Non-Surgical Rhinoplasty?

Nasal correction or liquid rhinoplasty as it is often called, non-surgical rhinoplasty is a simple procedure that smoothes out the asymmetries or bumps in the nasal passage or the nasal tip without reshaping the bone or incisions. It is performed pretty quickly and has little to no downtime making it a perfect fit for a lot of patients.

The non-surgical rhinoplasty includes injectable dermal fillers usually made of hyaluronic acid which provide immediate results that are semi-permanent allowing patients to test out the lasting results. The procedure does not require anesthesia and involves no pain during the administration. Though it is not ideal for structural issues concerning the internal nasal passage it is a great alternative if the patient is adamant on refinement in the look of their nose.

Non-Surgical Rhinoplasty in Istanbul: From Consultation to Results

There is a reason why thousands of patients come to Turkey each year for their cosmetic procedure needs. From consultation to result a non-surgical rhinoplasty in Istanbul yields the best results for patients. Not only are facilities top notch but costs are patient friendly and the service offered is in a class all by itself.

The non-surgical rhinoplasty process starts by a thorough consultation. During the consultation your doctor will determine the steps of the procedure by talking with the patient about their aesthetic goals. This process enables the doctor to determine whether the patient is a good candidate for non-surgical rhinoplasty operation.

The procedure itself is a quick occasion, a non-surgical rhinoplasty takes anywhere between 20 to 40 minutes depending on the dosage and style. In order to contour the nose your doctor will administer dermal fillers made mostly of hyaluronic acid and shape accordingly. Unlike a traditional nose operation the results are quick, effective and without pain.

The results of a non-surgical nose job last for the months and years to follow. Depending on the metabolism and the initial amount of fillers used in the operation the results can last anywhere between 6 months to 2 years.

Ideal Candidates for Nonsurgical Nose Job in Istanbul?

If you are looking for subtle improvements and contouring in your nose and do not want to go under surgery a nonsurgical nose job is your best bet. Non-surgical rhinoplasties are subtle and temporary making them very popular amongst patients.

An ideal candidate for nonsurgical nose job in İstanbul is a patient who does not have major irregularities in their nasal passage and are looking to improve the aesthetic by minor or slight concerns. The non-surgical rhinoplasty is a great option for patients who can’t commit a full nasal operation but would like to experience the effects firsthand. As the operation consists of the injection of dissolvable and natural hyaluronic acid dermal fillers the effects will diminish in months and years to come making the operation not permanent but long-lasting.

Materials Used in Non-Surgical Rhinoplasty in Istanbul

The dermal fillers that are often used in non-surgical rhinoplasty are hyaluronic acid dermal fillers. These dermal fillers are biocompatible and reversible meaning they are organic and they dissolve naturally over time. What makes hyaluronic dermal fillers a good option is the fact that they provide immediate results which are also natural-looking. It doesn’t take long for dermal fillers to take effect and they have little to no downtime.

Non-Surgical vs. Surgical Rhinoplasty: Which one to choose?

Choosing between non-surgical vs. surgical rhinoplasty depends on what you expect in terms of results. Non-surgical rhinoplasty is a temporary and dissolvable solution with almost no downtime. It is ideal for patients who are looking for corrections that are minor and almost entirely aesthetic. Surgical rhinoplasty on the other hand is a permanent operation meaning the changes are structural and the recovery period  is long. Depending on the patient’s end goal and ultimately, their commitment the choice is subject to change.

Pros & Cons of Nonsurgical Rhinoplasty

As it is the case with all cosmetic procedures there are several advantages and disadvantages attached to non-surgical rhinoplasty. Here is a list of pros & cons of nonsurgical rhinoplasty.

Pros:

  • Immediate results: Unlike a traditional surgical rhinoplasty or nose job the results of non-surgical rhinoplasty are immediate and the patients are able to achieve the look almost right away.
  • No recovery time: As the procedure is not invasive as a traditional nose operation the patient does not need a recovery time. In most cases local numbing creams are applied and as the operation itself is a short one it is easy to bounce back and continue with the daily schedule.
  • Aesthetic refinement: With a simple dermal injection the patient is able to ascertain the symmetry or the smooth appearance of their nose.

Cons:

  • Limited options: Though it smoothes out bumps it does not actually correct any structural issues or can not reduce nose size.
  • Temporary results: Though it takes fillers a long time to dissolve, its effects will eventually wear off.

Benefits and Drawbacks of Rhinoplasty

Traditional rhinoplasty is a conclusive operation that promises permanent results. It can reshape the nasal passage, alter the bone structure and thus change the appearance of the nose drastically. As it is a drastic operation it can offer results that are not only cosmetic but also very physical problems such as breathing functionality and adenoid issues.

The recovery time of Rhinoplasty is its major drawback. As the nose’s structure is altered the recovery period is fragile and critical. Bruising and swelling is to be expected and it may take a few weeks to months to fully recover. Since the operation is drastic the costs are higher and if the outcome is not to the liking of the patient it is very hard to restore.

Re-touch

Frequency of Application and Re-Touch Intervals

Non-surgical nose procedure is not a permanent so it usually needs to be repeated to maintain the results. On average, the effects last between six and 18 months, depending on the type and amount of filler used, as well as the patient’s metabolism and way of life.

Although the results tend to be consistent from one session to the next, slight variations may occur due to changes in skin elasticity or tissue response. Regular reinjections over many years do not cause filler buildup or permanent deformities when performed by a skilled practitioner using high-quality dissolvable fillers, such as hyaluronic acid.

However, overuse or improper injection techniques can increase the risk of asymmetry, lump formation or tissue stretching. Therefore, it is important to follow a personalised treatment plan developed by an experienced professional.

Limitations of Non-Surgical Rhinoplasty

What It Cannot Do?

While non-surgical nose jobs can make a big difference to how patients look, it’s good to know its limits — especially when we’re talking to patients about what to expect.

The most basic fact is that it cannot make your nose smaller. The procedure involves using dermal fillers to add volume and smooth out any unevenness. It is not intended to make the nose smaller. If you want to make your nose much smaller or change its shape, the only effective option is to have an operation.

Secondly, non-surgical nose jobs do not deal with issues like breathing difficulties or problems with the septum. These need changes to the inside to work, and these can only be done through an operation.

Risks and Side Effects of Non-Surgical Rhinoplasty

No surgery is risk-free. On the other hand, when performed by a medical professional using dissolvable hyaluronic acid fillers, the vast majority of side effects are temporary and controllable.

In order to help you evaluate the surgery from a realistic perspective, please be aware of the following risks:

  • Bruising. It is common, particularly around the tip and bridge. It fades within a few days and can be covered with makeup after 24 hours.
  • Swelling at the injection site are normal for the first 1 to 2 days. Most patients look presentable within a day or two.
  • Redness. It is slightly more pronounced in patients with fair skin. It usually lasts no more than two days.
  • Asymmetry can occur if filler migrates or is distributed unevenly. Minor asymmetry often settles on its own. If it doesn’t, hyaluronidase can dissolve the filler and the area can be reassessed.
  • Lump formation is uncommon with hyaluronic acid fillers but can happen, particularly if the filler is placed too superficially. Again, dissolvable with hyaluronidase.
  • Vascular occlusion is rare but the most serious risk associated with nose filler. The nasal area has a dense network of blood vessels, and inadvertent injection into or around one of them can restrict blood supply to the skin. Symptoms include sudden blanching, pain, or skin discolouration. This is why nose filler should only ever be performed by a practitioner with a detailed understanding of nasal anatomy.
  • Vision loss. In extremely rare cases, a filler injected under high pressure into a nasal vessel may travel backward toward the eye, causing partial or complete vision loss. This is the most serious complication known in facial filler procedures, and for this reason, the nose is considered one of the highest-risk injection sites. While reported cases in the medical literature are rare, they do exist, and any practitioner who does not mention this risk is not providing you with complete information.

At Vantage Clinic, nose filler is performed by medical doctors. A pre-procedure assessment is carried out for every patient. If anything concerns us about your suitability, we will tell you before the procedure.

Frequently asked questions

Depending on the amount of fillers that is going to be administered the whole procedure can take 20 to 45 minutes.

Non-surgical rhinoplasty or nasal correction is not painful, it is designed to be minimally invasive. Patients can experience mild discomfort from the administration of the fillers however generally the recovery is easy and patients do not need to rest.

Yes, liquid rhinoplasty or non-surgical rhinoplasty is reversible! The fillers dissolve in 6 to 32 months in themselves however they can also be dissolved easily with hyaluronidase and the effects can be totally eradicated.

In Turkey, non-surgical rhinoplasty typically lasts between 6 to 18 months depending on the type of filler used and your metabolism. However, if you are considering a permanent surgical nose job down the line, there is a crucial detail to keep in mind: you cannot go under the knife with filler still in your body. Before the procedure can even begin, your surgeon will first need to completely dissolve and clear any remaining filler in and around your nose to properly assess your natural anatomy. If you are planning a surgical transition later on, you should expect this extra step to extend your overall surgical timeline and potentially influence your initial recovery and healing process.
